Welcome back to Pariganaka.com! For years, Siri has lived inside our iPhones, Macs, and smart speakers as a disembodied voice. But what if Apple’s digital assistant could step out of the background and command its own physical presence?

Recent hype across the tech world has centered on Apple launching its first “physical AI gadget,” moving Siri beyond traditional screen-based interactions. According to industry leaks and reports, Apple is finalizing a major push into the smart home market with an all-new tabletop and wall-mounted device.

Here is everything we know about this highly anticipated AI-powered command center.

Meet the “HomePad”: Siri Gets a Body

Codenamed “HomePad,” Apple’s upcoming device takes the core concepts of an Apple Watch and supersizes them into a dedicated smart home display. Expected to launch between October 2026 and early 2027, this device is designed to be the ultimate central hub for your connected home.

The new gadget is built around a roughly 7-inch square display and is powered by a new processor, likely an A18-class chip—the necessary silicon to seamlessly run Apple’s modernized “Siri AI” capabilities. It is reportedly arriving in two distinct configurations:

  • The Tabletop Model (J490): Designed with a half-dome, HomePod-inspired speaker base, this model is built for high-quality audio playback and visual interaction. It is expected to be priced around $599.
  • The Wall-Mounted Model (J491): A slimmer panel focused purely on visual information and smart home control, attaching to walls magnetically without the bulk of a large speaker. This version is expected to cost around $399.

Facial Recognition and “Pebble” OS

What truly sets this device apart from basic smart speakers from competitors like Amazon or Google is its deep emphasis on multi-user personalization. The HomePad will utilize built-in cameras and facial recognition to identify exactly who is standing in front of it.

  • Proximity-Based Personalization: If you walk up to the device, it will recognize your face and instantly adjust the interface to show your personal Apple ID data, such as your calendar and notes. When another family member approaches, the screen seamlessly switches to their specific preferences.
  • A New Hybrid Software: The device will run on a brand-new operating system codenamed “Pebble”. This software blends elements of tvOS, watchOS, and iPadOS, offering a familiar experience with app grids, widgets, and highly customizable watch-style faces tailored for different rooms in the house.

More Than Just a Voice Assistant

Apple is ensuring this physical Siri gadget is not just a passive display. The inclusion of a built-in selfie camera allows users to make and receive FaceTime calls directly from the device. Furthermore, it will act as the ultimate HomeKit hub, allowing users to control smart lights, locks, cameras, and thermostats entirely through natural Siri AI voice commands or the interactive screen.

By combining a more capable, modernized Siri AI with a dedicated screen, advanced cameras, and strict privacy controls (like on-device processing and separate user profiles), Apple is making a massive, calculated bet on the future of the smart home.
